Gosh, this is tough! I managed a week and lost 4.5lbs (i’m not overweight, at a size 10, so I didn’t expect to lose 7lbs). I started off thinking the juice was vile and then after reducing the celery, it became much more palatable, to the point where I enjoyed it! This diet works, but it isn’t a diet for life, so enjoy the quick fix as I’m doing.

Read an article about this diet and liked the endorsements it was given. I also liked the recipes that were given. I’ve just started it but I’m struggling with the green juice – I don’t like the taste or smell. But I’ll persevere and continue. The first couple of days are hard, especially if you’re in work. You do feel hungry by lunch time. When you start it, make sure that you don’t have anything straight after work, as you’ll be really hungry by the time you get home. The recipes are easy and quick to make, and tasty, especially if you like spicy food. Even if I decide not to have the green juice in future, at least I can continue to follow the recipes.

Most importantly: the diet works! Equally important: I never felt hungry (a major diet disaster) and the recepies are very tasty (well, the green juice is something you have to get used to). I did lose weight, I did feel more energetic and I did tone up. I also learned to cook (I know, shame on me) and as the diet avoids any kind of processed food, the calory intake was significantly lower per meal than the processed food alternatives (e.g. breakfast cereals). The diet is habit-changing and hence effctive in the long-term. Coffee, tea, chocolate and (red) wine are all part of the menu.
